Larry Coyle, Chief Operating Officer, West
Larry Coyle is the chief operating officer, West, at Entergy Nuclear, headquartered in Jackson, Mississippi.
Prior to this role, Coyle served as site vice president at Indian Point Energy Center in Buchanan, New York, and at James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant in Scriba, New York. He also served as general manager of plant operations at Indian Point from 2011-2013.
He began his nuclear career with Exelon at Dresden Nuclear Power Station and held various positions increasing in responsibility including main control room supervisor, shift manager, mechanical maintenance manager and work management director. During his tenure at Dresden, he served as an operations peer evaluator for the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations.
Following his work at Dresden, Coyle served as operations director at LaSalle Nuclear Power Station. He then accepted the position of maintenance director for Braidwood Nuclear Power Station. He was subsequently promoted to plant manager where, under his leadership, the organization realized its best safety, human performance and collective radiation exposure results. He has more than 33 years of commercial nuclear power experience.
Coyle has a bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago. He is a member of the American Nuclear Society and has served as a board member for Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
